Here you will find a detached holiday home with a fully fenced garden in the vineyards in an open, scenic location. It is located away from the small village and nestled in the foothills of the Mecsek Mountains. Surrounded by vineyards, it is an ideal starting point for hikes through the countryside. You benefit from a central location, very favourable for day trips to Lake Balaton and interesting cultural cities. A trip to the capital Budapest is also possible.
Beautiful seating and sunbathing areas right next to the house invite you to linger and unwind on the large, fenced property surrounded by fragrant fruit trees and vines. These are also ideal for a cosy barbecue. Round off the evening with a glass of the landlord's own good wine. The wooden vineyard hut, which is only 500 metres away and can be used free of charge, with a fantastic view of the valley, is also ideal for barbecues, snacks or simply relaxing in a deckchair or on the swing. You are welcome to ride the tame ponies Rebecca and Barny on site. Dogs are welcome everywhere, even in the house. Dog lovers can use the hotel's own dog training area with exercise equipment just one kilometre away.
The old Hungarian country house was renovated by the German owners with great attention to detail in its original form and attractively refurnished. With 82 m² of living space, the two-storey house has two comfortable living/bedrooms that can accommodate up to four guests. In addition to a fully equipped separate dining kitchen, there is also a contemporary shower room with WC and heated towel rail in a separate annexe 15 metres from the main building. The extensive facilities also include German-language satellite TV, books and board games. Fresh bed linen and towels are also included in the rental price. The room layout with the two living/bedrooms is ideal for a family holiday or a holiday shared by two friendly couples, as there are plenty of opportunities to retreat as you wish. The first living room/bedroom is located on the ground floor and is cosily furnished in Chippendale style. You sleep in a double bed (1.80 m x 2.00 m) with headboard and footboard, which is surrounded by bedside tables with reading lamps on both sides. Next to the bed, the comfortable seating area consisting of a three-seater and two armchairs offers relaxation after a day out. The second bedroom is the spacious attic studio, which is attractively panelled with wooden panels and has a double bed (1.80 m x 2.00 m) and a sofa set. Here you can enjoy a marvellous view of the sunset, weather permitting. The centrepiece of the house is the eat-in kitchen, which is equipped with a dishwasher, a cooker with oven and the usual small electrical appliances such as a coffee machine and toaster. The bathroom has a glass shower cubicle, a WC and a wash hand basin.
To avoid any misunderstandings, the landlords would like to point out a few things at this point: The Leitenhof was created from an old Hungarian country house, which has been lovingly renovated and refurnished in its original style. The living room/bedroom in the retrofitted attic studio can be reached via a narrow, open wooden staircase. The entrance door to the staircase, like the door to the kitchen and living room/bedroom on the ground floor, leads to the covered veranda in front of the house. The old country house did not have its own bathroom and only had an "outhouse". As there was no room for this in the house, the landlords built a massive extension outside and installed a nice bathroom with shower, washbasin and WC. The extension is about 10 metres away from the house and can be reached via stepping stones in the meadow. A water boiler supplies hot water, but there is currently only cold water in the kitchen. Hot water is available in the bathroom or with the help of a kettle. Water is supplied from a well or from a water storage tank during longer periods of drought. The groundwater from the well is drinkable, but the landlords do not recommend drinking water from the storage tank, purely as a precaution. They also provide a sufficient amount of drinking water in a container.
The fresh, clear forest air can be really enjoyed on a long hike through the surrounding vineyards. Good riding and fishing opportunities can be found in the surrounding area of 5 to 8 kilometres as well as excellent restaurants with Hungarian cuisine at very reasonable prices. The Gunaras thermal and medicinal spa is also just 5 kilometres away and offers a wide range of wellness and spa services. The nearest small town, Dombóvár, with many shopping facilities, good restaurants, bars and cafés, is only about 8 km away. During your stay, you can explore the diverse leisure and rich cultural offerings in the surrounding area on interesting excursions. The newly built medieval theme park in Bikál is only 15 km away. The European Capital of Culture Pécs and the flower town Kaposvár are only about 40 km away, Lake Balaton about 65 km and the capital Budapest about 120 km, which is always worth a day trip. For water lovers, Lake Orfü, 25 km away, offers everything your heart desires and dogs are allowed everywhere. This includes bathing beaches, jetties and fishing facilities. Water sports such as sailing and windsurfing can also be practised there. Those interested in culture can take advantage of the many museums and observation towers.
Please note that the holiday home can be easily reached from the valley via a short, five-minute walk through the forest, which is also accessible with a suitable car. The landlords are happy to transport luggage and shopping to the holiday home in their jeep on request.
