Summary: We loved our stay at Clos Castaing! We were in the area for my daughter's wedding in nearby Saint-Vincent-de-Pertignas and this chateau was perfect for my family during the week leading up to the wedding. We were 8 adults with more than enough space to relax and enjoy all the property had to offer, while also preparing for the wedding. The infinity pool was very appreciated during the heatwave all week. We used the kayaks provided on the lovely Dordogne, with access right from the yard. Colette, the caretaker, was quick to reply to our questions and requests. She was very friendly and helpful. The house was well stocked with essentials. It was thoughtfully and beautifully renovated and it was fun to look through the book they provided that documented the renovation project. The river view from the bedroom windows is just spectacular! Such a joy to wake up to that each morning. The only downside for us was the lack of screens on the windows. Being on the river there were a lot of mosquitos which made it impossible to keep the windows open at night to take advantage of the river breezes. (When asked, Colette did immediately provide an extra fan for us to use.) I highly recommend Francois' peaceful and beautiful Domaine du Clos Castaing and hope to return again!
