Positive: In general terms the house was clean and comfortable with reasonable facilities, comfortable bedding, air conditioners in most rooms and a comfortable lounge suite with a good sized TV. After enquiring, I appreciated the opportunity to receive the lockbox code prior to leaving for the trip to avoid any potential technical issues on the day of arrival.

Negative: The location of the house wasn't detailed well in the description, but it's literally along the Calder Highway (which is called High Street through Bendigo and its suburbs) so the traffic noise caused some minor discomfort for sleeping - particularly on weekday mornings. There are many other houses along High Street where residents live, so it's not overly intrusive. There is essentially no suitable outdoor area other than an uncovered triangle of yard nest to the driveway which is off a side street from the main road. While there are outdoor tables and chairs, it's not really suitable for outdoor dining. There is a hooded BBQ by the side fence but this was old and very dirty - and needed a good clean before cooking food on it. There is no lighting out there to see what we were cooking and no solid hotplate for things like onions/eggs. The kitchen, while relatively spacious and well appointed lacked some larger wineglasses and general glassware, a larger (electric) frypan for cooking things like eggs/bacon, an actual corkscrew (remember wine with corks?) and a greater supply of dishwashing powder/tablets. (There is an air fryer and several other appliances and plenty of dishes, mugs & cutlery). None of these observations should be considered 'deal breakers' as the property was generally very good but clients should be aware of the location when considering their options for accommodation in the town/region.

Summary: Clean and comfortable accommodation worth considering.
