Mikado Park Cottage was once used to house travellers heading by horse and cart from Melbourne to Sale this gorgeous historic cottage has been lovingly restored leaving all the character of the 1800s but with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The cottage has been styled with rustic boho furniture so it’s super cute to the eye along with couch, beds, outdoor setup super comfy and workable.
The property itself is 27 acres, home to 20 horses, 3 calves, 3 dogs, 10 chooks, the odd kangaroo and deer.
It is a working farm with the hosts living onsite but in a completely separate building so your stay can be as private as you like.
The property is situated next door to a public reserve which is perfect for walks, dogs welcome.
Mikado Park is a 5 min drive from the base of Mt Cannibal hike, Gumbuya World and the quaint town of Garfield.
There is also a lovely picnic area called Picnic Point (about 10 min drive just before the Robin Hood Inn with the Tarago river running through it, picnic tables, play equipment for children and clean public toilets.
