Our beautiful house in the heart of wine country welcomes you for moments of relaxation by the pool or in the shade of the pergola after your days exploring the vineyards or the vast ocean beaches.
Our house is spacious and fully renovated. It's a charming Gironde-style house built with the region's white stone. It has been extended with a large kitchen, living room, and dining room opening onto a large terrace and then onto our garden, which enjoys sunshine all day long. Christophe, an excellent cook, has a fully equipped kitchen. The house is large and very comfortable. Organized around a beautiful central stone staircase, it features a series of distinct spaces: a TV lounge, a kitchen open to the dining room where aperitifs are enjoyed around the central island, and a small sitting room with a comfortable sofa and club chairs, perfect for reading the newspaper or a captivating novel by the bay window. The house has four large bedrooms: a master suite with its own bathroom and a king-size bed (180 cm), two children's bedrooms (two bunk beds in our son's room and a double bed and a single bed in the attic in our daughter's room), and a lovely guest room with a queen-size bed and its own shower room. This is a children's paradise: our prince and princess! They take over the garden where they enjoy a beautiful swimming pool and a playhouse. The sunny terraces, bathed in sunlight from morning till night, allow you to soak up the sun around our garden furniture while a delicious ribeye steak bought at the Capucins market or a beautiful sea bass brought back from the Arcachon Basin grills on the barbecue. To round off the afternoons, a pétanque court is tucked away behind the vineyard at the top of the garden. We love blending modern and traditional styles, like in this house, but we especially love Art Deco and the 1950s, so a few touches here and there brighten and beautify our living space. Our house overlooks a forest, giving it a touch of the countryside right in the heart of the city.
In addition, all the necessary baby equipment is available upon request: stroller, changing mat, travel cot, high chair, etc., as well as plenty of toys hidden in our son's playroom.
Our house is in the heart of an urban neighborhood with a village feel, where everything is close by: the bakery, mini-market, newsagent, post office, bank, and a beautiful park perfect for a run. A large supermarket is just a 5-minute drive away. It's a 15-minute bike ride from the historic center of one of the most beautiful cities, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: Bordeaux. Bordeaux is the 4th best cycling city in the world; everything here is bike-friendly. The house is connected to the historic heart of Bordeaux by a fully secured cycle path. We will leave our adult bicycles for you (upon request) to visit the city center, 3.5 km away. You will also find buses that take you directly to the city center and the train station.
Our house is ideally located 20 minutes from Saint-Émilion and its grand châteaux in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards, 1 hour from the Arcachon Basin and the beach (also accessible by train) and the Dune du Pilat, 1 hour 30 minutes from Cognac, or 3 hours from the Pyrenees. And of course, Bordeaux is only 2 hours from Paris by TGV.
Ideally located and close to everything, our house welcomes you for both a city break and a breath of fresh air in our peaceful haven by the pool, perfect for discovering the region and its treasures.
PLEASE NOTE: We have two very affectionate cats who live in the house. We ask that you take care of the garden in our absence and water it during the summer months.
