Summary: A last-minute change of vacation destination led us to a wonderful time in Cape Charles staying in the right side of this duplex. The street was quiet and near the city park. The beach, shopping, and restaurants were a leisurely sidewalk stroll away. We heard little noise from the guests in the other duplex, and the bedrooms were positioned on the outside walls. Beds and furniture were comfortable; the kitchen had everything we needed to cook; the dishwasher was comically loud (run it at night--it's far from the bedrooms). There is a bathroom on both floors. The downstairs bathroom opens to the kitchen and has a sink in the hallway, so it was not as private nor convenient for showering as the upstairs bathroom near the bedrooms. The primary bedroom had fantastic natural light, but--as expected in duplexes--the rest of the rooms did not receive as much sunlight. We appreciated the off-street parking behind the rental, and we found plenty of chairs, umbrellas, toys, and a wagon to haul everything for beach adventures. A problem with the key code on arrival was resolved quickly via a phone call even though it was after hours.
