Rent a boat and spend the day skiing, tubing, or fishing [No overnight docking, but docking/trailer storage facilities are located nearby]. Dining and other activities are just a short car ride (or an even shorter jaunt in a boat) away. Smith Mountain Lake State Park is on the other side of the channel and Smith Mountain Lake Community Park is less than 5 miles away. Both have wonderful beaches, hiking, and more! The area’s best kept secret is Homestead Creamery, our family’s favorite stop for ice cream and the best sandwiches we’ve ever had. Don’t miss it! Other fun family destinations include the Smith Mountain Lake Alpaca Farm and the Booker T. Washington National Monument.
