Ready for some peace and quiet with unobstructed mountain views? Enjoy a stay at our cabin / farmhouse! Half mile private gravel drive leads you to the top of our property where you can enjoy outstanding views of farmland and Sharp Top mountain. Our cabin has a main floor master bedroom with queen sized bed, full bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, dining room and great room with gas log fireplace (available during cooler months). Upstairs has a loft with queen size bed and full bath. Washer/dryer also available. Outside, enjoy the hot tub and firepit. Please note the driveway is steep in some places. Sedans and vans have driven to the property, but you may be more comfortable in an SUV or truck.
Why we love it: The views! You just can't beat the views and we love Bedford, VA. There are lots of great local restaurants, orchards, wineries and a fantastic brewery. Bedford County is also rich in history with The National D-Day Memorial and the beloved Peaks of Otter also just a short drive. You can have complete privacy but have access to all amenities within about 15 minutes of our property. The cabin is centrally located approximately 30 minutes drive to either Lynchburg or Roanoke, VA. Easy drive 25 minute drive over the mountain to Buchanan for awesome river and outdoor activities or the historic theatre. 40 minutes to the Natural Bridge / Virginia Safari Park. 45 minutes to Smith Mountain Lake. Happy to offer suggestions for restaurants and activities based on your interests.
Please note: we are completely smoke free anywhere on the property. We also do not currently allow pets to join you for your stay. No ATV/4 Wheelers are allowed on the property. We respectfully ask that you honor this requirement to avoid any impact to your security deposit. The cabin sits at a high elevation and as noted above is accessed by a steep driveway. In the winter months, owners reserve the right to decline access due to dangerous weather conditions. We will offer the option to select alternate dates. We will not provide refunds due to weather conditions. If you are concerned and would be unhappy with choosing alternate dates, we recommend purchasing trip insurance.
